Former Peruvian president Alan Garcia

Former Peruvian president Alan Garcia has shot himself moments before police arrived at his home. He was being arrested on account of bribery claims. A judicial order was earlier issued for the arrest of the former president.

Officers rushed the two-time president of Peru to Casimiro Ulloa hospital in the capital city of Lima. According to police and media reports, Alan Gracia remains in a critical condition.

Alan Garcia has served as the president Peru twice, first from 1985 to 1990 and then again from 2006 to 2011.

The former president is accused of taking bribes from Brazilian construction company Odebrech.

Alan Garcia rejected the claims in his Tweets as well as in press interviews.

Brazilian construction company Odebrecht has admitted paying almost $30m (£23m) in bribes to Alan Garcia since2004.

Odebrecht is at the center of Latin America’s biggest corruption scandal after admitting in a 2016 plea agreement with the U.S. Justice Department that it paid corrupt officials across Latin America nearly $800 million in exchange for major infrastructure contracts.

The commentator goes… “many doubted we’d never see it” while Tiger Woods was busy claiming his first title since 2008.

With his 15th major title win, Tiger Woods has now secured his 5th Green Jacket in what’s being called as the greatest comeback in the history of sports.

That’s a 14-year wait for Tiger Woods to win The Masters and an 11-year wait to win a major title.

“Last year I was very lucky to be playing again. At the previous Champions Dinner I was really struggling and missed a couple of years of not playing this great tournament and now I’m the champion. Twenty two years between wins, it’s a long time and it’s unreal for me to experience this. My Mom was here, she was the in 1997 as well. I’m just so happy and excited and I’m at a loss for words.”
